New leader elected for the Centre group Published: 27.09.2011

Siv Friðleifsdóttir has been elected as the new leader of the Centre Group in the Nordic Council. She is a member of parliament for the Iceland’s centre party, Framsóknarflokkurinn (F), and has worked as an MP in the Parliament of Iceland for sixteen years. She has also served as the Minister of Nordic Cooperation and the Minister for the Environment, Health and Social Security. Anders Andersson, representing the Swedish Christian Democrats, was named the Group’s vice-leader.

The new Group leaders were elected at the Centre Group’s meeting, which was held in conjunction with the Nordic Council’s meetings in Oslo, September 20–21.
